I'm not sure where the outside (temp display) temp sensor is, but I think it is on the driver's side in front of the lower grille. The BCM provides the logic for reading the ambient air temperature sensor, filtering the data and transmitting the information via the serial data circuit to the outside temperature display. Last night on a wing and a prayer I replaced the engine temp sensor because it was cheap and easy, then let the car run with the rad cap off, once the fluid got to the point of almost spilling out I replaced the cap. k. I called GM customer service and the agent told me that there is a temperature sensor that determines when these features will work. 8L and the temperature gauge will not work. For example if the car was driven until it was fully warmed up, and then stopped for a period of time, the temperature sensor may be registering heat from the engine instead of true ambient temperature. AC Test Gauges. Other than for about 10 minutes after going through a car wash, my temperature indication seems to be very accurate. Not sure I really understand the question, but the thermometer outside the car (in the shade) will show the outside temperature, and the thermometer in front of the vent will show a fair few Temperature Gauge Not Working! Heelp. The differences between the actual ambient temperature and that displayed by the vehicle is likely caused by a variety of factors including air flow at and around the temp sensor, heat from other vehicles, etc. The coolant temperature sensor is what tells the car's computer what the engine's running temperature is. please help!! A temperature sensor basically senses temperature, but it does it in a number of ways. you can even see it throught the holes on the black plastic cover. Depending on the age of the car, get a sensor from a scrapyard or if it is Return to Product Support *Proceed in order. This isn't a huge problem unless you want to be remotely comfortable. If it fails it may or may not produce an automatic transmission fault code. i am having troyuble trying to figure out the the cause behind it. WiFi Temperature Sensor & Wireless Remote Temperature Monitoring System Reviews. The most common reason for a coolant temperature gauge not working is a problem with the coolant temperature sensor. any suggestions please text. It was around 4. The outside temperature is a pretty good estimate and I would not get too excited about it. round with 2 wires. For about three weeks I have problem with external temperature sensor. With a 2LT I assume you have manual temperature control so there isn't a temp indicator for the HVAC, right? So if I understand right, only the coolant temp gauge on the far right of the dash pods fell to Cold (like the car hadn't been running) and the AC no longer blows cold air and the rest of the gauges work just fine. We also have the gas gauge issue, which I figured was cause of the level sensor. A car's intake air temperature sensor (IAT) changes the way it operates based on the temperature of the air in the vehicle's intake. If the IAT sensor is not working properly, it can affect the way its computer makes temperature based adjustments. The temp sensor have +5V DC that is supplied to the other sensors as a source voltage. lol and it does not even show a temp. Putting an ohmmeter across the terminals of the sensor will not duplicate this setup and therefore resistance readings indicated by the ohmmeter may not Re: Air and temperature hand not working. I left work and got into the car and got an "ice alert". Learn more about Chevrolet Suburban at the Edmunds. It does not matter if the engine is hot or cold. My temperature sensor started playing up yesterday. The check engine light also comes on when there is a problem The HVAC control module converts the signal to a working temperature range. Ambient Outside temp is off? I did hit my car in the front when i first got it maybe it was knocked off into the engine so its reading engine temps im not sure but I have no idea how it looks or where it is located lol i tried going to dealer but they give me a harder time about it Because the radiator fan doesnt do a whole lot unless the car is already overheating. Driving car some more, outside temp corrected itself back to actual 100F outside temperature and then, using voice control of climate, was able to set climate control to 70F, but still controlling fan speed manually due to excessive noise/blowing otherwise. Gary, hook up a ODB scanner and see if you can see the temp on the scanner. If your outside "ambient temperature sensor" has been ripped off, and is missing, the resistance between the two wires that lead to it will be infinite (the The outside temperature display located in the cluster will show an inaccurate reading (typically off more than 10 degrees F. One of them is located in the plenum where the climate control air intake is located (under the hood on the passenger side) and the other is attached to grille next to the driver's side headlight. The car temp meter comes with a 10' detachable, replacable sensor cable. car outside temperature sensor not working
